Janice M. Bruni Q.C.
- 403-266-5664 ext 6
Janice has practiced law in Calgary for close to 40 years. For the first 10 years, she had a general practice that included all areas of family law and some civil litigation and corporate law. Today Janice focuses her practice on wills and estates but continues to draw from all her legal experience to provide clients with a well-rounded and complete approach to assessing their legal needs.
As a senior lawyer in the areas of wills and estates, her expertise lies in planning for the transfer of assets upon death, dealing with incapacity issues, protecting the interests of the elderly, and assisting with the appointment of guardians and trustees for adults who have developmental disabilities or incapacity.
Janice represents executors, beneficiaries, and claimants in estate matters. She has been appointed by the courts in Alberta to act as an amicus curiae and as a trustee for a limited purpose to ensure that the interests of adults without capacity are protected.
She assists clients with estate planning and the preparation of wills, enduring powers of attorney, and personal directives. In particular, she helps clients who have children with special needs to plan for their family’s future.
Janice is excellent at assessing and identifying what a client’s legal issues are and determining how to move forward. She strives to find a common-sense and cost-effective legal solution for client issues.
In addition, she practices in the area of residential real estate purchases, sales and refinancing.
She enjoys mentoring junior lawyers and working as part of the legal team at Bruni Law.
